Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Statutory Cancellation Rights

In accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, customers have the right to cancel a service purchased online within 14 days of purchase, provided that the service has not yet commenced.

Where a customer expressly requests or agrees for the service to begin within the 14-day cancellation period, they acknowledge and accept that their right to cancel is waived once the service has commenced.

2. Commencement of Services

For the purpose of this policy, “commencement of services” includes, but is not limited to:

  • behavioural assessments

  • consultations

  • training sessions

  • handling or boarding

  • programme design and preparation

Once any part of the service has commenced, no full refunds will be issued.

3. Cancellation After Services Have Commenced

If a customer chooses to cancel after the service has commenced, any refund for unused sessions is not guaranteed and will be considered at the sole discretion of Smart Bark Academy.

Any discretionary refund may be calculated on a pro-rata basis, taking into account:

  • services already delivered

  • time spent on assessment and preparation

  • reserved and blocked training slots

  • operational and administrative costs

  • behavioural planning and programme development

4. Deposits and Appointments

All bookings may require a deposit to secure the appointment.

Cancellations or rescheduling must be made with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

Failure to provide sufficient notice may result in the loss of the deposit.

Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice may result in the full session fee being charged.

Repeated cancellations may incur an additional fee and/or require full payment in advance for future bookings.

5. Personal Circumstances

Cancellation due to personal circumstances, including but not limited to stress, anxiety, lifestyle changes, or inability to continue training, does not constitute grounds for a refund.

6. Non-Transferability

All services and training packages are non-transferable and non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing by Smart Bark Academy.

7. Right to Refuse or Discontinue Services

Smart Bark Academy reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services where a client fails to comply with this policy or where continuation is deemed inappropriate.

8. Final Decision

All decisions regarding refunds are made at the sole discretion of Smart Bark Academy and are final.
